I found a kincaid english saddle in my basement that has been there for a couple of years. How can i tell if it is synthetic or real leather? It needs a good cleaning if it is synthetic will it hurt it to use tack soap and saddle oil on it?
Synthetic Sadles are more like fabric whilst leather is hard and "slippery".
If its synthetic, to clean it use warm water on a sponge but don’t get it too wet just dap the saddle with a damp sponge. If you use tack soap and oil it will damage to saddle.
Also if it is synthetic dont use leather stirup leathers, use the synthetic as leather ones will in time rub a hole into the sadle.
Since the saddle has been in the basement so long make sure it fits the horse before you rid in it.

I have one in very good condition (synthetic, foam pannels, havanna brown with leathers and irons) but I can not find how much they retailed for. I called the store and they were looking it up in their archives but hadn’t found it so they said they would call when they find it. I was just wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head. I need to sell it as it doesn’t fit my new horse.
